Product Poster (Hero Shot)
My design is a dust pan- chopping board. I got this idea from my mum as she told me that she would be much happier if the chopping board had a border around it. This border prevents food from falling off the board when chopping and dicing up the food.
So I thought that it will be good idea to shape the board like a dust pan which will help prevent the food from falling off. This is further emphasised by the handle which makes it easier to lift and then pour into the pot after chopping up.
My product is targeted mainly towards 20-30yo, especially for single ladies who lives in small studios. This is also for people who prefer the convenience of multi-functional tools as it will save both time and the hassle of cleaning up the scraps of the diced food.
For those people, they would prefer to get a multi- functional tool to use since they have to save their space and they don’t need quantities as they live alone.
Also, this particular product helps women who lack cooking abilities to conserve space and time as it can be used as both a chopping board and plate.
The key point I wanted to highlight into this product was enjoyment and convenience, which is represented by the design and ease of the product. The concept of the dust pan was chosen due to its unique look which could appeal to a wide range of people; single ladies in particular.
This chopping board’s main difference in relation to other products is the flexibility of utilising a body used to chop up the food and a compartment which stores the diced up food. So people can simply chop their food and remove the cover to store it into the body. Then you can use the handle of the dust pan shaped board body to pour the food into the pot.

I personally really like your design. I think it resolved the issue that everyone would have experienced when cooking. I just like the overall concept and not only your target market but alot of people would be interested in purchasing your product if it was actually manufactured. If i really had to comment on one thing, i thought you were going to make a boarder around the chopping board to avoid food falling off but when i see the image, i see the surface being flat. Did you just focus on making a body and a handle? even so, i think you identified the problem well and attempted to come up with a solution.
man! i love your design!! i cant belive this hasnt been thought of sooner! your choice of natural timber is spot on, and would fit in seemlessly with what your target market already has in their kitchen. Some improvements would be to bump the thickness level of the edges of the "dustpan" frame down abit, as it looks quite heavy and cumbersome to be handled by female users. Other than that i think the form is great! would love to buy this for my mother or sister!
Luke I really like this design, it really looks like it belongs in the kitchen, its simple and yet looks to be quite effective, really like the naturalness of the wood, there's a presence about the shape that would be very eye catching. The only thing I'm a bit confused about is the handle, apart from that everything looks good and ready to be used. Good job.
I really like the design, a major problem with chopping board is solved. As I cook myself all the time and will always experience food falling off the side of the chopping board...
I think what can be improved on might be the shape of the chopping board, although this might just be what I feel but I think there should be some more aesthetics to the chopping board to really attract the user to buy it.
yo, i really like this design~ my initial problem with this product is the size of the chopping board might be a bit small..? Incorporating some colour into it would also really change the mood of the product. Otherwise i thought it was really well thought out. it seems quick and easy to use! I'm not too sure on this, but the thick wooden planks make the product appear fairly heavy :x Great job man~
